Team Strengths Session for Leaders
Effective and productive teams meet their goals and achieve meaningful outcomes by engaging team members and capitalizing on their diverse talents.
As a manager or leader of a team -- or as the chair of a group or committee -- you have a unique responsibility to move others toward a common goal. The best teams leverage the talents of their members to engage them in realizing the team's goals and objectives.
In the Team Strengths Session for Leaders, team leaders will:
- learn why engagement is crucial to the success of a team
- reflect on and discuss their team's strengths and challenges
- discover strategies to engage team members and ensure they are positioned appropriately for their role
- learn about the Four Keys to Great Managing and how they affect team leadership
- experience a Four Keys coaching call with a team member, with an opportunity to debrief the call with other participants
- examine the relationships and strengths dynamics of their team
- learn how to use a Team Talent Map to increase performance and engagement of their team
- receive a one-on-one coaching session on their strengths
This practical, hands-on session will allow leaders to apply their learning directly to a team they are leading. To maximize time in the session, you must:
- bring a completed Team Talent Map to the learning session for a team you are leading. This map should show each team member's top five talent themes.
- Schedule a Four Keys coaching call with a team member to take place during the learning session. NOTE: This call will take place at 1:45 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, June 7 and will last approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Participants are encouraged to use their cell phones for this call. If a landline is needed, however, Gallup will be provide one at no additional cost. To request use of a landline, contact Paula Wilhelm.
- Provide Gallup with the e-mail address you used to complete the Clifton StrengthFinder or StrengthsQuest or so your strengths report is available for your one-on-one coaching session. To provide your e-mail address, contact Paula Wilhelm.
Prerequisite: Completion of the StrengthsQuest Educator Seminar or Strengths 101 (offered by the Clifton Strengths School).
