MAP StrengthsQuest

(becomes CSS 200HE-MAP: Mentoring and Advising Program on July 1, 2012)

The StrengthsQuest team is pleased to announce that we are integrating our learning and development offerings for educators with Clifton Strengths School. This integration will bring changes to the course names of our current offerings and will bring additional offerings in the future. What will not change is our focus on bringing you in-depth, insightful, and actionable learning opportunities that will help you bring a strengths-based approach to your school or campus.

Strengths mentors and advisors understand and can explain the subtle, yet predictable link that exists between human behavior and human performance. They connect with those they mentor in a way that is practical and relevant to their lives. Through their efforts, mentors and advisors help others to understand and maximize the unique human potential that each person brings to their roles in school, in work, and in life.

In the MAP (Mentoring and Advisor Program) StrengthsQuest session, learners will:

  • learn how to apply their Signature Themes to become an effective strengths mentor/advisor
  • grow their understanding of the language of strengths and the 34 Clifton StrengthsFinder themes
  • learn the right questions to ask to enable a student, teacher, or staff member to develop a deeper understanding of their talents and how they can use them to improve their performance at school or at work
  • embark on the study of "theme weaving," a technique for examining how talent themes combine, and explore how to coach others to draw on their talents to increase engagement
  • learn how to coach others to apply their talents to maximize individual performance and to enhance the performance of partnerships and teams

This practical session will deepen your understanding of strengths, prepare you to coach students, staff members, and faculty on their talents, and equip you to train, mentor, and coach other coaches.
