Jim Johnson, Ed.D.

Jim Johnson, Ed.D., is a Professor of Education at Point Loma Nazarene University, where he teaches in the School of Education and Department of Psychology. He continues his commitment to strengths development as a Gallup Strengths Advisor and through his active involvement as a coach and trainer for Gallup's Education Practice. Dr. Johnson brings his Relator, Maximizer, and Individualization strengths to all his endeavors. His passion and mission is to help people become aware and comfortable with their strengths, to become who God made them uniquely to be, and to help them be effective in what they do best.

At Point Loma Nazarene University, Dr. Johnson provides leadership in strengths development with student development and in faculty training and coaching. He also serves with the Center for Pastoral Leadership, which collaborates with Gallup's Faith Practice to assist church congregations and church leaders with strengths coaching, training, and consulting. Much of Dr. Johnson's focus includes developing resources and training on strengths and engagement for staff, faculty, and administrators of universities, churches, and schools.

Dr. Johnson served more than 20 years at all levels in California public education. He has trained, coached, and consulted on strengths development throughout the United States, in Brazil, and in Cyprus. His Signature Themes are Relator, Maximizer, Individualization, Learner, and Strategic.
