Therese Lask, Ph.D.

Director of Student Support Services, Aims Community College

Therese Lask, Ph.D., has worked in student services for more than 20 years in both four-year public and private institutions. She currently serves as Director of Student Support Services, a TRIO Program, at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado. Theresa also serves as a StrengthsQuest Advisor to Gallup's StrengthsQuest program.

Therese was introduced to the strengths movement at the Chair Academy. There, she infused a strengths-based philosophy into various components of the Student Support Services (SSS) Program that included a strengths-based first-year experience class for SSS students. Through various training programs and presentations, she has helped numerous TRIO and Gear Up staff implement a variety of strengths-based initiatives. In addition, she has co-facilitated training programs for student services at her college. Therese has also conducted research and done numerous presentations on the topic of first generation, low-income students.

Therese received her bachelor's degree in human development and her master's degree in college student personnel administration from Colorado State University. She received her doctorate in higher education student affairs leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. Therese serves on the Chair Academy's International Practitioner's Board. In addition to her experience with TRIO Programs, Therese has expertise in residence life, academic advising, new student orientation, and student activities. Her Signature Themes are Strategic, Maximizer, Adaptability, Self-Assurance, and Arranger.
