Christina L. Khan
Instructor, Clifton Strengths School
Christina L. Khan is an Instructor for the Clifton Strengths School. As a Maximizer, she is passionate about helping people capitalize on their strengths. Khan's focus is on enhancing the mental health of students and educators in order to positively affect learning and teaching. To this end, Khan's research interests include understanding the connections between hope, engagement, and wellbeing in schools; applying positive psychology to educational practices; and developing interventions to boost levels of hope and increase engagement in America's students and teachers. Khan also serves as a StrengthsQuest Advisor to Gallup's StrengthsQuest program.
Khan is a National Board Certified Teacher in adolescent and young adult language arts. During the past 11 years, she has taught students in grades 8-12, undergraduate education majors at the University of Kansas, and professional educators taking courses through the Clifton Strengths School. Khan has also presented workshops and Webinars nationwide on topics related to hope, strengths-based classroom management, and effective practices for increasing learner engagement and achievement.
Khan received her bachelor's degrees in English and middle/secondary education and her master's degrees in curriculum and instruction and counseling psychology from the University of Kansas. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in counseling psychology. Her Signature Themes are Maximizer, Input, Achiever, Ideation, and Learner.
